Labor Day Biking

What a beautiful day Labor Day was this year! A perfect day for a bike ride on the Riverwalk. Since G and S were off work and school we decided to do just that. We started the day off at our favorite Dunkin Donuts, a tradition on "Mondays-off-of-school" days. Then we headed to the Riverwalk and biked for about an hour. S rode her bike and did great. Even though LT is really good at bike riding, we thought that he should go in the bike trailer this time since we were going a longer distance. Little O enjoyed her 1st experience in the bike trailer and even fell asleep. We all had a wonderful time together!!!
G had the hard part of pulling 2 kids.

Taking a rest with my loves!
Comfortable in the bike trailer....a great yard sale find.

Maryland friends visit

G and I were thrilled when we heard that our friends from MD, the Rowles, were going to stop at our house for a quick visit. They were taking their oldest son to college at PCC. The time went by way to fast and we had a great time renewing our friendship. We were so blessed to have them as friends when we needed friends the most.
Here is a pic of part of their family. They left 2 boys at home and Christy is pregnant with another boy.Alivia Grace and OG :)Taylor was in my 1st 2nd grade class I taught right out of college(2000). Now he is going to college!!! Yea, I feel OLD! (I look horrible at this point...it was 11 pm and it had been a VERY long Sunday)

Ears Lowered

I finally got up enough courage to cut LT's hair today. I had been watching the hair stylist the last couple of times and decided "I can do that". So I did! He was a fantastic client and sat still (for the most part:)). Here is the handsome boy to show us his haircut. I think it turned out just fine........

Living and Learning Luke 6:38

I am constantly amazed at how God supplies our families needs (and wants) and how He uses people in our church many times to show us that HE loves us and takes care of us. Also, I am seeing more and more the importance of giving to the needs of other and how God will in turn bless those that are a blessing to others. How do I know this? It has happened many times in our family....but I will share the most recent.

CP is a wonderful college student and a hard worker. She has been to college in the past but because of finances she had to stay home and work for several semesters. She really felt that God wanted her to go back and had been working hard to save money. God laid on G and my heart to help her out in a small way. The day we were to give her the amount we had decided a lady in church said she loved our family and felt led by the Lord to give us something to enjoy the weekend. She handed G some money. He instantly texted me to tell me the news. I started to cry when I heard the amount. I could not believe it! It was the EXACT amount we gave to CP for college!!! "Give and it shall be given unto you." I wonder what would have happened if we would have given CP more?!:)

Update on soccer

S is doing much better and is enjoying herself alot. No more tears and a great learning spirit. Atta-girl!!!!

Soccer season begins!!

Well, it is that time of year. Time to get out the soccer cleats, shin guards, and soccer ball to begin fall soccer. S played last year and did great. This year she wanted to play again so we were happy to sign her up. LT did not want to yet. I don't want to push him too much but I think I may make him next spring. :) S is playing with the 6 and 7 year olds this year. They are a little more serious about the game since they will actually keep score. Her coach is Tommy whom we found out is the son of one of our older ladies at church....small world.
Coach Tommy is all about soccer and will teach S ALOT this season. She was a little sad and crying after the 1st day of practice. She said Coach Tommy was too hard and made her work too much. GOOD!!! LOL! She will learn to stick with something even when it is hard and that working hard will pay off. Aren't you glad for those people in your child's life that help teach them character?? I am! It may be hard to watch at first but I am sure that she will be a better person because of it. Here are some pics of her 1st practice.......O and LT came to watch.

Cute soccer girl with her coach.

Listening and learning

Getting to know each other.

Practicing hard. It will pay off!!!!:)

LT writes his name

I was making lunch when my big 4 year old ran into the kitchen and showed me his paper he was working on. I could not believe it when I saw that he had written his name all by himself. He had not followed any guide nor looked at any papers to see the order of the letters. We really have not started any school yet so when I saw what a good job he had done I went crazy happy with the praise. haha! I can't believe what a big boy he is!!!

Garbage for a quarter?

What would you do for a quarter??Would you empty the garbage around the house?
My big boy LT does!!!!!!

K's Kreations

Here are more of my Kreations (yes, I know I spelled that wrong).

I enjoy making the matching burp clothes and bibs and giving them as gifts to all these new babies being born.

Liver anyone?

Only in Alabama....

A fort for 2

LT has been missing his big sister while she is at school. Well today he decided that little sister could play too! I helped him build a "fort" with 2 rooms so they could "take a nap". He is a great big brother and is always so sweet to little O.
Little O is wondering what is going on....but loving it!!

"God, grant me the serenity
to accept the things I cannot change;
courage to change the things I can;
and wisdom to know the difference."

NO, no!!

Training children is one of the hardest jobs a parent has been given. I believe the BIBLE is the clear guide for disciplining and behaviour. How early should we start? As early as a tiny baby!!! I believe if a parent is consistent with scheduling at the very early stages of an infants life, they can help that child learn how to sleep and eat consistently. My little O has been sleeping great since about 8 weeks and ate on a 3 hr schedule. It has been so nice and such a blessing to have such a happy, contented baby

Well, now we are at the stage where she is learning what we are saying and what certain looks mean. You know those looks....the one your mom gave you when you were across the room from her doing something wrong and she caught you. Yeah, we have all been flashed that "look" from mom and dad.

Little O was sitting on the bed with me while I was folding mounds of laundry. This little 7 month old is always looking for something it chew on and grabbed a handful of folded laundry. "NO, O", I said. She stopped, looked and me, smiled and reached for it again. "No, no, O" , I firmly said again. This time with a serious look on my face. She touched and I pulled her hand away. "NO, no!" This went on several times till finally she knew I meant business and turned her attention to something else. YES!!! VICTORY! Now to always be consistent with this........GOD, BE MY DAILY HELP.

First Day of School '10

It is the First Day of School for 2010 school year! I can't believe my sweet S is going to be in FIRST GRADE! Where did the last school year go? I am realizing that these days fly by and that I need to enjoy and cherish every one of them. I am so thankful that S loves school and is such a great student. I am also thankful for our christian school and that it is more than just academics she is learning.....she is learning more about God and how to be like HIM!The whole family came to see S off to 1st grade.

Outside her classroom. Notice there is just one boy in her class. Poor little guy!:)

SO thankful S has Mrs. Holt this year. What a great teacher she is!!!

Happy and sad all at the same time......

My cute little snaggle toothed 1st grader. I love this kid!!
